Chamber Strings
Small Section Strings by Spitfire Audio
Very intimate and warm, this sits perfectly in all songs and scores where I’m going for emotions like close, intimate, romantic, sad, nostalgia. It doesn’t sound great until a really great composition is played, so it is making me a better composer.

Symphonic Strings by Spitfire Audio
This is the most advanced & beautiful sounding string library that I have, you’ll hear it on almost every film score that I’ve worked on starting 2016. I’ll buy volume 2 this fall.

Epic Composer Tools by Spitfire Audio
Albion ONE is hand down the most versatile piece of gear a composer can have. Its an ensemble based Orchestral library and also includes cinematic percussion section & dynamic cinematic loop phrases.

Epic Composer Tools by Spitfire Audio
Albion I is the predecessor of Albion ONE and just like its younger brother this is a very power tool for composers, its sound has a little vintage feel compared to ONE, thats the main reason I still use it.

Solo Cello by Best Service
Tons of articulations, very expressive, has a beautiful tone and sounds very close to the real thing, all that Game of Thrones vibe in my upcoming scores is due to this.

Solo Violin by VirHarmonic
You won’t find a sample based instrument library thats more innovative than Bohemian Violin, load it up & you literally have a professional violinist ready to play for you.

Chamber Strings by Native Instruments
I’m not a fan of SSP’s tone but thats the only chamber strings library that I have atm, and some of the articulations in this library are very unique & interesting.

Dramatic Phrases by Dynamedion | NI
I don’t use phrases & loops in my music but they serve as amazing tools for ideas specially on tight deadlines. Whenever I feel stuck during a dramatic orchestral piece, this gives me instant inspiration.

Cinematic Tools by Heavyocity | NI
Evolve has amazing Textures, FX, Percussion elements & sound design beds which add the extra sheen to the Sound Effects & background score.

Sound Design by Heavyocity | NI
Another beautiful library for sound design, lot of this stuff can be used in commercial songs so some of my newer tracks have touches from this.

Sound Design by Heavyocity | NI
This one is a sequel to original Evolve Mutations & has new sound design effects & content.

Sound Design by Native Instruments
Beautiful textures, soundscapes & some interesting percussion as well. I haven’t used this heavily on any soundtrack or song mainly because I’m waiting for that kinda movie or theme.

Sound Design by Force Sampling
One of the most versatile & bold morphed sounds. I use it heavily in cinematic work, D&B and other works. I currently have the free version of this library, will get the full version soon.

Percussion Phrases by Dynamedion | NI
Just like Action Strings, Strikes serves as an amazing tool for instant inspiration. I’ve don’t keep the phrases in final versions because there isn’t much control over the timbre & tone of the individual instruments but its good anyway.

FX by Galaxy Instruments | NI
Dramatic Build Ups & Hits. I love how I can customise the timing & layer & tweak multiple types of Rises & Hits to create the exact sound thats in my head.

Piano by Galaxy Instruments | NI
Of all the libraries that I have, this is my favourite Piano. Some of snapshots are so beautiful that I end up playing/improvising for hours & hours without realising.

Piano by Galaxy Instruments | NI
Sampled from world’s biggest upright piano and one of the most unique sounding pianos. I love the warm character of this piano. Early morning piano practice with this created magical experiences.

Piano by Galaxy Instruments | NI
Like the name suggests this has very classic Concert Grand tone. I use it in all kinds of music.

Piano by Native Instruments
Whenever I need that touch of love & sensuality, I go for Alicia’s Keys. The tone makes me feel happy & naughty.

Piano by Galaxy Instruments | NI
This was the first piano library that I bought, it has a beautiful upright sound. I don’t use it much now but still have made good memories with this.

Sample Phrases by Native Instruments
Awesome tool to add jazzy & soul feel to the productions, I’ve used it in some of the new hip hop beats that I produced.

Hans Zimmer Percussion Vol. 1

Hans Zimmer Percussion Vol. 3

Cinematic Percussion by Heavyocity | NI
Remember the sounds in theatres that shake you & makes your heart shake, specially in trailers & epic action movies, that is Damage & much more. I thing there is no trailer or a movie which doesn’t have elements of damage in it.

Drum Designer by Native Instruments
Whenever I want to surprise myself with unexpected drum kit combinations and whenever I want to layer the drum elements (which is almost always), I go to polyplex. The randomise features in itself is so much fun.

Drum Sampler by Native Instruments
No bullshit drum sampler, the inbuilt kits are awesome & plenty, full songs can be prepared by the provided kits. I also love how easy it is to tweak individual sample sounds.

Sample Phrases by Native Instruments
Awesome tool to add jazzy & soul feel to the productions, I’ve used it in some of the new hip hop beats that I produced.

World & Rare Instruments
Sampled Instrument by Native Instruments
This one got me so excited at its release & I ordered on day 1. Tabla, Flute, Tanpura, Santoor are beautifully sampled. Sitar sounds fake, flute is also limited but fine for mockups but Harmonium is totally unusable. Overall the library is interesting.

Sampled Instrument by Fracture Sounds
The best Tibetan Singing Bowls library that I’ve used till date. Sustains & Hits both are beautifully sampled. Very reasonable and the maker of this instrument is a very nice & humble musician, also an online friend.

Sampled Instrument by Origins of Audio
Kalimba is my favourite physical instrument, just the joy of playing a few notes with your finger and listening to an innocent, cute & beautiful is amazing, this sampled version does the same, sometimes I spend hours just playing this.

Pitch Correction by Celemony
This is without any doubt the most innovative & biggest breakthrough application in the history of Audio. The Polyphonic DNA engine was already unmatchable & with the unbelievable features of version 4.0, its far from just being a pitch correction application.

Effect Plugin by BT | Izotope
Rhythmic gates, pans, distortions, chops, delays, filter effects all combined together and triggered with 1 key press. I never get tired of this plugin & its capabilities.

Tube Compression by Native Instruments
This is my favourite tube compression plugin. The control over amount of saturation is great & I totally love the Mid – Side capabilities of this plugin.

Dynamics Effect Plugin by Native Instruments
Ever wondered if you could control the attack/sustain of audio and not just your synth? This one lets me do just that and I love it.

I use tons of other plugins for mixing, mastering & sound design but it would be too much to list on this page.
The most prominent not listed would be Logic Pro‘s inbuilt plugins like Channel EQ, Compressor, Space Designer, Stereo Delay, Platinum Reverb, Tremolo, De-Esser, Pitch Correction, Noise Gate, Adaptive Limited, Multipressor etc.
DAW by Apple
This is my workhorse & most loved DAW, almost everything I’ve composed since 2011 is cooked up in Logic Pro.

DAW by Steinberg
I haven’t bought the full version yet, got this version with some hardware that I bought, but Cubase Pro is coming to the list of DAWs very soon. As I’m getting deeper into film scoring, I’m getting attracted towards Cubase as my main DAW for film work.

DAW by Ableton
Not a big fan of live. I use sometimes for its powerful pitch engine, its fast & smooth for vocal chop sampling.

DAW by Apple
Little brother of Logic Pro. I’ve always loved it for its simple interface & the amazing tutorial videos.

DAW by Native Instruments
Companion DAW to the Maschine Hardware. Its fun to make music on Maschine as it allows many time of workflows to get the work done and importantly it lets you focus away from mouse keyboard and make it all in the Maschine.

I have used other DAWs like FL Studio by Image Line & Reason by Propellerhead in the past, and some of my famous songs are made exclusively on them but, I’ve not featured them on the list. The reason is that as a student, I was using pirated versions of these DAWs and haven’t bought them yet. I still love & miss both of them and will probably buy FL Studio as soon as the MacOS version gets out of the testing phase.
GarageBand
Mobile DAW by Apple
Without

Logic Remote
MIDI control app by Apple
This app on the iPad has become my default way of harmonizing a song, adding in the basic MIDI and do all sorts of strumming & plucking, I can now do stuff that is impossible on a MIDI keyboard (for me, at least)

Audiobus
App to App Audio by Audiob.us
This app the one which actually helps me rewire different music production apps to a DAW, which is GarageBand in my case, I can play, perform stuff in real-time in 1 app and get it recorded in the GarageBand. Pretty cool & an essential tool.
